Where Your Heart Is Honored
|
|

I like to use aromatherapy during massage sessions. The fragrance enhances the pleasurable experience and essential oils are known to have individual therapeutic properties when dispersed into the air or applied to your skin.
You may notice immediate effects when you: smell a jasmine flower, inhale the freshness of sage while walking in the woods, or pick a
lavender bud from your garden. If
you like the scent it will probably bring about a pleasing feeling, sensation,
or memory. That's because when inhaled odor molecules travel up your nose to
specific receptor cells, where they are quickly transmitted to the emotional
center of your brain, called the limbic system. Because this route from nose to
limbic system is so rapid what you smell has an immediate effect on your
emotions.
Although there are many essential oils on the market, I have chosen to have the following oils on hand for your enjoyment:
| Lemongrass | Stimulating, purifying, refreshing |
| Sage | Balancing, detoxification, purification, mental clarity |
| Peppermint | Skin stimulating, warming/cooling, energizing, uplifting |
| Lavender | Calming, relaxing, balancing |
| Vanilla | Sweet and familiar, sensual |
| Jasmine | Uplifting, sensual, sweet |
