Compassionate Communication

I offer workshops for groups and couples coaching in NVC (non-violent/compassionate communication - see www.cnvc.org for more information). This process helps us to communicate heart to heart, increase compassion for self and others, and identify destructive language that leads to ineffective communication such as value judgments, shaming and blaming. Compassionate Communication skills are also excellent for parents who have teenagers.

Vision Quest and Medicine Walks

This nature-based experience can be used for an individual as well as groups. A vision quest is a type of ceremonial rite of passage where time alone is spent in the wilderness anywhere from several hours to several days (see www.schooloflostborders.com for more information). The participant who is marking a life transition, life proclamation, or discovery, spends time alone fasting in nature with bare essentials and drinking water only. Before going out alone a process is used to help the participant set intention for the journey. The main teacher in this quest is the natural environment, plants, and animals.
